Juror Parking

Jurors may park at two locations for free:

  1. The Juror Parking Lot is located at the corner of East Jefferson Street (Route 28) and Monroe Street. The entrance to the lot is off Monroe Street, NOT East Jefferson Street (see Driving Directions below). The lot has no street address. However, a visual of the lot is provided on this map. This is the same lot used for the Rockville Farmer's Market.

    There are 6 handicapped parking spaces in the Juror Parking Lot. Be prepared to display your Juror Summons when you enter the lot.

  2. The Council Office Building (COB) Garage has additional parking if the Juror Parking Lot is full. It is located directly across across from the Juror Parking Lot (click on the map link above and look for the “Mtgmy Cty Parking Garage”). There are 7 handicapped spaces on Level A of the COB Garage. You will need to ask the Jury Office for a blue parking tag upon check-in for jury service if you park in the COB Garage. You will need this tag later when you leave the parking garage.

Driving Directions to the Juror Parking Lot and COB Overflow Garage

Heading North on I-270:

  1. Take Exit 5 (Falls Road - MD 189) toward Rockville Town Center.
  2. Bear right off the exit ramp onto Maryland Avenue.
  3. In less than a mile, make a right onto Fleet Street (at a traffic light).
  4. Take the first left onto Monroe Street.
  5. Take the first right into the Juror Parking Lot driveway.
Heading South on I-270:
  1. Take Exit 6B (West Montgomery Avenue).
  2. Bear left at the end of the ramp towards Downtown Rockville, onto West Montgomery Avenue (Route 28).
  3. Stay on Route 28 and bear right where the road seems to split. Route 28 becomes West Jefferson Street and then turns into East Jefferson Street.
  4. In less than a mile, make a right off East Jefferson Street onto Monroe Street (at a traffic light).
  5. Take the first left into the Juror Parking Lot driveway.
Heading South on Hungerford Drive (Route 355):
  1. Turn right onto Monroe Place (across from the Rockville Metro Station).
  2. Take a left at the end of Monroe Place onto Monroe St.
  3. Stay on Monroe Street through the next light (Route 28).
  4. Take the first left into the Juror Parking Lot driveway.
Heading North on Hungerford Drive (Route 355):
  1. Stay in the left lane as you approach Downtown Rockville and turn left onto East Jefferson Street (Route 28).
  2. Take a left on Monroe Street (at a traffic light).
  3. Take the first left into the Juror Parking Lot driveway.

Juror Entrances

For jurors coming from the parking lots, the closest and most accessible entrance is the East Jefferson entrance. Look for the fountain, flags, and the "Optional Juror Entrance" sign.

The entrance nearest the Metro stop is the east side of the building along Monroe Street.

Jurors are encouraged to arrive 15-20 minutes early to get from the parking lot and through security.

Parking for Jurors with Disabilities

There are 7 handicapped spaces on Level A of the COB Garage. You will need to ask the Jury Office for a blue parking tag upon check-in for jury service if you park in the COB Garage.

Please note that due to the slope of Monroe Street, using the entrance on Monroe Street is not advised. Please use the East Jefferson Street entrance instead, near the fountains and flags.

Additional handicapped spaces are located in front of the Council Office Building (COB) garage off Jefferson Street (near the County gas pump).

Additional Parking

Additional parking is available in other lots around Rockville Town Center, but should you choose to park at one of these lots, it will be at your own expense:
  • Street-metered parking is also available around the courthouse. However, because the maximum time on these meters is 2 hours, jurors should NOT park in metered spots.
  • Parking garage at 11 North Washington Street, next to the M&T Bank Building.
  • Council Office Building (COB) garage at the corner of East Jefferson Street (Route 28) & Monroe Street (accessible from both streets).
  • Colonial Parking garage at 196 East Montgomery Avenue, Rockville Town Center West (high-rise building).
  • Colonial Parking surface lot across from the theaters and restaurants between East Middle Lane & East Montgomery Avenue (entrance is on Helen Heneghan Way).
  • Colonial Parking garage at 255 Rockville Pike (entrances on Route 355 and Monroe Street).
  • 51 Monroe Street garage (entrance is on Monroe Place).
