Georgia Coffey
Georgia Coffey is a nationally recognized thought leader in workforce diversity and inclusion (D&I). Ms. Coffey has led numerous major Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) compliance and D&I programs in the private and public sectors. She recently retired from Lockheed Martin as Executive Director for Enterprise Operations Global Diversity and Inclusion where she led numerous groundbreaking initiatives, including its first multi-year Global Diversity & Inclusion Strategic Plan and Annual Progress Report; a new D&I Inclusion Learning Portfolio; an innovative on-line mentoring program; and new D&I data analytics to track and drive progress. She currently serves as a Commissioner on the Montgomery County Commission for Women.
Prior to joining Lockheed, she served as Chief Diversity Officer and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Diversity and Inclusion for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs where she was a catalyst for government-wide change. She developed the model for the Federal Government's first D&I Strategic Plan and the framework for the first Government-wide D&I Council. She implemented standardized EEO, D&I, and Conflict Management training and performance standards for managers; issued consolidated EEO, D&I, No FEAR & Whistleblowing Protection Policy statements; and created two innovative new D&I metrics - the Diversity Index and Inclusion Index - that have been profiled by the Corporate Executive Board and recognized government-wide. She served in similar capacities for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and Montgomery County Government.
She is a prolific public speaker and contributing author to “Inside the Minds: Implementing a Successful Human Resources Strategy." Georgia was featured on the cover of Nov-Dec 2013 issue of Diversity Executive Magazine( http://www.talentmgt.com/articles/the-rainmaker-veterans-affairs-georgia-coffey). In 2017, she was awarded the Federal Government's Distinguished Career Award.
Ms. Coffey earned her Bachelor’s Degree in psychology from the University of Maryland; Master's Degree and Doctoral coursework in education from American University; and a Certificate in EEO and Diversity Studies from the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
