The Falls Road Shared-Use Path is a 3.7-mile project running from Glenolden Drive to Dunster Road and is an important link in the overall bike network for Montgomery County connecting Potomac to the City of Rockville and the Carl Henn Millennium Trail. This shared-use path will add facilities for people to walk or bike along the east side of Falls Road where there are currently only intermittent facilities available. The shared-use path will provide safe connections and access to schools, religious institutions, recreation, community activities, and more. Additionally, the shared-use path will connect to future Bicycle Master Plan facilities on Democracy Boulevard, Bell Mills Road, Tuckerman Lane, and Montrose Road. This project provides funds to develop final design plans, acquire right-of-way, and construction.
Final design to occur in FY21-22. Land acquisition, utilities, and construction costs are programmed beyond the six years; the schedule will be reevaluated once the new design is completed.
