This project provides for the rehabilitation of the existing Brookville Road Bridge No. M-0083 over CSXT Railroad.
The existing Brookville Road Bridge, built in 1976, is a 124’-0” long 3-span steel rigid frame concrete deck structure carrying a 50’-0” clear roadway for two 19’-6” travel lanes and one 11’ center left-turn lane, plus a 7’-0” sidewalk and a 1’-0” parapet on both sides. The structure is supported by concrete abutments. The biennial bridge inspections since 2019 revealed that the bridge deck, deck joints, bearings and bearing pedestals are in need of repair or replacement.
Two-lane two-way vehicular traffic along with pedestrian/bike access would be maintained on the bridge throughout the construction period. Bicyclists will continue to utilize the travel lanes during construction, while pedestrians will be provided a separate walkway protected from vehicular traffic. No detours are proposed.
