This project provides for the replacement of the existing Garrett Park Road Bridge over Rock Creek. The existing bridge, built in 1965, is a three span 154’ long steel beam with concrete deck structure. The existing clear roadway width is 24’ with a 6’ wide sidewalk on the north side of the bridge. The proposed replacement bridge includes a three span 163’ long structure consisting of five NEXT 36F pre-stressed concrete beams with a reinforced concrete deck. The new bridge will be widened to the north to provide a 32’ clear roadway width with two 11’ wide travel lanes, 5’ wide shoulders and 11’-8” wide shared-use path along the north side of the bridge.
