HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) continue to impact the health of Montgomery County residents. As a healthcare provider, you are a critical part of our public health response. Montgomery County Public Health Services encourages providers to screen patients routinely for HIV and STIs, talk to patients about prevention options like Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and condoms, and stay up to date on the latest clinical HIV and STI guidelines. Supporting Your Patients Living with HIV
- View the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA)’s guidelines for the management of HIV in Primary Care Settings.

- REFER PATIENTS TO HIV CARE: To refer a newly or previously diagnosed patient to low-cost HIV treatment, medication assistance or support services, call Montgomery County’s HIV Clinic at 240-777-1869. The clinic is located in the County’s Dennis Avenue Health Center (2000 Dennis Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20902, Suite 22).
- HIV Support Groups in Montgomery County: Montgomery County offers free, confidential support groups for people living with HIV. Virtual and in-person groups are available. For more information and referral, visit our “ Get Involved” page.
Case Reporting in Maryland
