COVID-19 Safe Fitness
Come out and RecFit with us. Whether you are looking forward to working out in our fitness room, enjoying family fitness together or joining a class, Montgomery County Recreation has something for you.
We have several community recreation centers located around the County offering fitness opportunities in a safe, socially distant environment.
Safety Tips
- Maintain a six (6) feet distance at all times.
- Wear a face covering or mask at all times.
- Bring additional safety supplies to help you feel comfortable.
- Household groups are asked to stay together and maintain six feet of social distancing from other groups at all times.
Important Registration Information
- Each participant is required to register.
- You must have a valid Montgomery County Recreation Pass or be registered in a RecFit class to participate.

The following is a list of centers and days of operation for RecFit activities and classes. The centers below are open on Monday-Friday from 12:30-8 p.m and Saturday & Sunday from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.:
Bauer Drive- Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
Damascus- Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday
Lawton- Sunday, Monday, Tuesday
Plum Gar- Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
North Potomac- Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday
Potomac- Thursday, Friday, Saturday
Praisner- Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday

Due to COVID-19, several Montgomery County Recreation facilities are operating with new CDC safety recommendations.
At this time, reservations are open to County residents only. Residents must have a current pass or purchase a new Fit and Play pass. While reservations are not required, residents with reservations will have priority entry. The number of available walkup entry slots will depend on the number of pre-reserved spaces.

- Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Reservations are open seven days in advance.
- Fit and Play passes will be available for in-person purchase by County residents only. Online pass sales are suspended at this time. Residents must provide proof of County residency at the time of purchase.
Fit and Play Passes Required
Fit and Play Passes, sold in six-month increments, are required for fitness room and gymnasium use. All classes and instructor-led programs require advance registration in our Active Montgomery system.
- Fit and Play passes can be purchased at a RecFit facility from 12:30 - 7 p.m.
- Community Recreation Centers have limited schedules. View recreation center times and locations here.
Reservations are encouraged, but not required if space is available.
- Walkup entry is for County residents only.
- All adults must provide proof of County residency at the time of entry.
- Only household groups will be admitted together, with valid individual passes.
- At the time of entry, patrons must complete a contact form including the names participants telephone number and address.
- The number of walkup entry slots available will depend on the number of reservations and capacity.
- $55 for adults (18 and up), valid for six months for fitness room and gymnasium access only.
- Free for young people 17 and under. All youth will be required to register for a Montgomery County Recreation Access Pass.
- All participants must have a reservation or be registered in a program/activity to enter community recreation centers.
- Reservations can be made seven days in advance.
- All patrons must have a reservation or class registration to use the facility.
- All reservations for pickleball, badminton or table tennis, must be for one-on-one play. For everyone's safety, no doubles play are allowed.
- When the message, “No appointments are available this month” shows on the calendar grid it indicates all open sessions, within the next seven days, have been reserved.
- No loitering in lobbies.
- Bring a water bottle. For public safety, water fountains and vending machines are not available.
- Three (3) no shows to reservations, reserved under your name, will lead to suspension of access to the reservation system.
- Stay Safe! MCR follows CDC recommendations for indoor fitness.

Facility Updates
- Patrons two years and older must use a face covering when in fitness rooms, gymnasiums, studios, and social halls.
- Locker rooms are not available for use.
- Restrooms will be available. Please minimize your time in those areas, to maintain appropriate social distancing. Changing rooms and showers are not be available. Patrons will have to keep their belongings with them.
- Patrons are encouraged to bring a filled reusable water bottle with them as water fountains and vending machines are not available.
- Patrons are encouraged to stay home if they are not feeling well.
- Patrons will not be allowed to congregate in any area of the facility.
