Meet Yolanda:

Yolanda has been with the Department of Recreation for 13 years. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications with a minor in Speech Communications from Winston Salem State University, a Historical Black College & University (HBCU) in Winston-Salem, NC. Yolanda has over 20 years of experience in teaching and coaching-mentoring including planning, programming, developing and maintaining working relationships with youth and the community.

Yolanda is a native Washingtonian. However, she moved to North Carolina at the age of 15, where she was raised by her grandmother. She considers herself a city-country girl having lived in the south during the school year and lived in the city during the summer. She graduated from Reidsville High School in Reidsville, NC, where she was a student athlete and played JV basketball and was a varsity cheerleader. Yolanda loves spending quality time with her family and friends, roller skating, traveling and is a self-professed foodie.

Meet Elizabeth:

Elizabeth has been with the Department of Recreation for 10 years working in variety of areas from teen travel to community events and activities.

Elizabeth was raised in Washington DC and is a graduate of Bell Multicultural High School. She loves spending time with her granddaughter. She lives in Rockville with her daughter, son and grandchild.
