Long Branch Community Recreation Center

The Long Branch Community Recreation Center is located within the Long Branch Local Park, and it is next to the Long Branch Outdoor swimming pool. The center is accessible from Piney Branch Rd., just west of the intersection with University Blvd. E.

Although the Long Branch area is part of the nearly eight-square-mile Silver Spring community, it is adjacent to Langley Park, an unincorporated community to the south. Long Branch is a diverse community that includes single and multi-family housing, along with shopping areas along Piney Branch Rd. and Flower Avenue. The area is home to a diverse population of about 20,000 people, including new immigrants from 120 different countries.

The recreation center offers a wide range of programs and activities on both floors of the facility, as well as in the adjacent outdoor garden area. The Long Branch Local Park, operated by the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, includes a playground, basketball courts, soccer and softball fields, tennis courts, community gardens, and picnic areas.
