Mid-County Community Recreation Center

The Mid-County Community Recreation Center is located in the unincorporated Layhill area of Silver Spring. East of Layhill Road and not far from the intersection with Bel Pre Road, this multi-purpose recreation facility serves a community of approximately 5,100 people in 1,600 homes. Slightly more than 40 percent of the households include children.
The center opened in 2011 and includes a variety of activities and experiences for all ages including open gym activities, classes, programs, and special events. The outdoor area of the facility includes ballfields, a playground and tennis courts maintained by the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission.
