MCER NO. 20-04AM:  ADOPTED DEPARTMENT OF POLICE REGULATION - Microchipping of Animals

SUMMARY:  This regulation requires that microchips be implanted in dangerous and potentially dangerous animals, impounded dogs and cats prior to their release to the owner, all animals adopted from the County, or any animal that the director determines should be microchipped.

ACTION:  Executive Regulation, 20-04AM, was approved by the County Council according to the Method 2 process, effective September 20, 2005. 

AUTHORIZATION AND PROCEDURAL METHOD:  Montgomery County Code, 1994, Section 2A-14 & 5-103.  Method 2.
