Requesting Tax Transcripts

There are several ways to request a transcript from the IRS.  The estimated time for most requests is is 5 - 10 business days.

  • Online ordering for mail delivery:  Go to  www.IRS.gov  and click on “Get a transcript” under the “Tools” heading and then follow the prompts. You need to enter the taxpayer’s name, SSN or ITIN, date of birth and the address listed on the most recently filed tax return. 
  • Complete  Form 4506T-EZ:   This is the Short Form Request of Transcript of Tax Return which can be mailed or faxed to the IRS. There is also a  Form 4506-T  which can be used to request transcripts related to any kind of federal tax return. 
  • By phone:  Call 800-908-9946 to make a request a transcript by phone.
  • In-Person: Click  HERE  to find a Taxpayer Assistance Center.
  • Complete the entire process online: Click  HERE  to set-up an online account and receive immediate access to transcripts.
