Montgomery County Climate Action Plan

The Climate Action Plan (PDF), completed in June 2021, is Montgomery County’s strategic plan to cut greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions 80% by 2027 and 100% by 2035. The Climate Action Plan includes strategies to reduce GHG emissions and climate-related risks to the County’s residents, businesses, and the built and natural environment.

Data Centers

County Executive Marc Elrich will hold a Public Meeting on Local Data Center Legislation and Policy on February 3, 2026, from 7-9 PM in the Leggett Executive Office Building Auditorium, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, MD 20850. The meeting will include a brief overview of the County Executive’s Draft Legislative and Policy Recommendations for Data Centers in Montgomery County (PDF), and then the meeting will be opened to public conversation and comment.
