Gunners Lake Erosion Repair Project

24 Inch Stormwater Outfall Located West of Silvergate WayGunners Lake Erosion Repair project is located on the downstream side of Gunners Lake dam, immediately south of Wisteria Drive which runs along the top of the dam. The project work area is located on property owned by North Lake Village Federation and the Knolls at North Lake Condominium Association.

During DEP's routine maintenance inspections of the Gunners Lake dam and outfall it was discovered that the outfall channel that runs east to west along the toe of the downstream side of the dam is eroding. The channel originates at a 24-inch storm drain pipe outfall on the west side of Silvergate Way, south of the intersection with Wisteria Drive. The channel erosion starts approximately 230 feet downstream of the outfall, with an active headcut that is moving upstream towards the outfall, and is threatening the stability of the dam embankment.

The repair work will extend the 24-inch storm drain pipe to Gunners Branch, downstream to the principal spillway outlet for Gunners Lake.
