Montgomery County Trauma Services is a comprehensive center for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault/rape and general crimes including human trafficking, physical assault, homicide (surviving family), etc. The program provides coordinated support for survivors.
Montgomery County residents who are survivors of domestic violence and their dependents, survivors of sexual assault/rape, homicide (surviving family), human trafficking, physical assault, etc. We also serve offenders of intimate partner violence, and non-Montgomery County residents who are survivors of violence and crimes which were committed in Montgomery County.
The mission of Trauma Services is to:
- Provide nonjudgmental social, informational, and practical support to all survivors
- Promote safety, healing, justice and rights for survivors.
- Ensure a voice for survivors through the implementation of Trauma-informed policies and practices.
- Promote access for survivors to a seamless web of multidisciplinary and comprehensive services to meet their needs in the short and long term.
- Advocate for individual survivors as well as for social, institutional, and legal change.
- 24-hour telephone and walk-in crisis counseling, information, and referral.
- 24-hour outreach services at hospitals.
- Emergency domestic violence shelter.
- Supervised visits and monitored exchanges provided by the Safe Passages Center.
- Safety Planning.
- Individual and group counseling services.
- Short-term case management services.
- Mental Health consultation, evaluation and treatment.
- Victim assistance/advocacy through the criminal justice process, including support and accompaniment.
- Crime Victim Compensation for survivors who meet eligibility requirements.
- Community outreach/education
- Abuse Intervention Program (AIP) – Services for intimate partner violence offenders
