The Application

This is the first step in the hiring process. Once the application period opens you will receive a notification via the information you provided to MCFRS.

The Exam

After your application has been reviewed to ensure you meet the qualifications for a career with MCFRS, you will be assigned an entrance exam date. This written exam will assess your critical thinking and decision making skills. See sample questions and get an idea of what the test will be like.

Background Check

Fire and EMS personnel are some of the most trusted people in the community. They are allowed in homes and business's as well as given access to information which requires the highest levels of character and integrity. Therefore it is critical for MCFRS candidates to go through an extensive background check to ensure that those we serve can have confidence in our department.

Health Assessment

MCFRS conducts a thorough health assessment to ensure that candidates are prepared for the rigorous physical demands that recruit school will place on those hired.

C.P.A.T.

The Candidate Physical Ability Test is a vigorous exam to assess the physical ability of applicants. This test was developed to ensure candidates are physically able to perform essential job tasks at fire and ems scenes. There are additional resources available on our CPAT page to assist in your preparation.
