Tier One Projects (as of 11-17-09):
- Add southbound lane from I-495 with dedicated right turn onto Jones Bridge Road (Connecticut Avenue will not be widened to add this lane; median will be reduced)
- Montgomery County Department of Transportation to install signal on Jones Bridge Road at Spring Valley Road
- Other traffic mitigation efforts described in Project 11: Interim Traffic Signal at Jones Bridge Rd. & Spring Valley Rd. Intersection
- Tier One projects funded by Maryland Dept. of Transportation.
- Tier Two Projects:
- Widen Jones Bridge Road west and east of Connecticut Ave. along the south side of Jones Bridge Road to create an additional left turn lane onto northbound Connecticut Ave., reducing congestion along Jones Bridge Road east of Connecticut Avenue during the afternoon peak rush hour.
- Reduce the median on Connecticut Ave. north and south of Jones Bridge Road to create an additional northbound lane.
- Tier Two projects funded through a grant from the DoD Office of Economic Adjustment for transportation projects at BRAC-impacted military medical facilities.
