Scope of Work:

Tier One Projects:
- From westbound Cedar Lane, add southbound left turn lane onto Wilson Drive (at National Institutes of Health)
- From North Wood Dr., National Naval Medical Center, add northbound right turn lane onto Cedar Lane
- Add morning rush hour signal for southbound left turns onto N. Wood Drive, National Naval Medical Center
- Increase space for more vehicles waiting to turn left going southbound at N. Wood Drive, National Naval Medical Center
- Increase space for more vehicles waiting to turn left going northbound at the National Institutes of Health commercial vehicle inspection facility
- Replace two culverts beneath Rockville Pike/MD 355 at Cedar Lane
- Restripe Cedar Lane (but add no additional lanes) to facilitate turns and traffic flow
- Tier Two Projects:
- Widen Cedar Lane east and west of Rockville Pike to create dedicated turns and realign culverts
- "Phase 4" -- Create an additional northbound lane north of Cedar Lane by widening along the right-of-way (NOTE: The "Phase 4" project depends on the outcome of environmental and traffic studies that will be conducted after the Tier One Projects and the widening of Cedar Lane listed above have been completed.)
