Parking and directions

There are two main entrances into the building: from Maryland Avenue and Monroe Street. The directions provided using this link will bring you to the Maryland Avenue entrance of the Circuit Court.

Driving Directions

Heading North on I-270:
  1. Take Exit 5 (Falls Road - MD 189) toward Rockville Town Center.
  2. Bear right off the exit ramp onto Maryland Avenue.
  3. After the intersection with East Jefferson St (Route 28), the Maryland Avenue entrance of the courthouse will be on your right.
Heading South on I-270:
  1. Take Exit 6B (West Montgomery Avenue).
  2. Bear left at the end of the ramp towards Downtown Rockville, onto West Montgomery Avenue (Route 28).
  3. Stay on Route 28 and bear right where the road seems to split. Route 28 becomes West Jefferson Street and then turns into East Jefferson Street.
  4. In less than a mile, make a left off East Jefferson Street onto Maryland Avenue. The Maryland Avenue entrance of the courthouse will be on your right.
Heading South on Hungerford Drive (Route 355):

Turn right onto Monroe Place (across from the Rockville Metro Station). The Monroe Street courthouse entrance is straight-ahead.

Heading North on Hungerford Drive (Route 355):
  1. Stay in the left lane as you approach Downtown Rockville and turn left onto East Jefferson Street (Route 28).
  2. Take a right onto Maryland Avenue. The courthouse entrance will be on the right-hand side.

Parking

General Public Parking

PARKING FOR A FEE is available in downtown Rockville at the following locations:

  1. Parking garage at 11 North Washington Street, next to the M&T Bank Building.
  2. Council Office Building (COB) garage at the corner of East Jefferson Street (Route 28) & Monroe Street (accessible from both streets).
  3. Colonial Parking garage at 196 East Montgomery Avenue, Rockville Town Center West (high-rise building).
  4. Colonial Parking garage at 255 Rockville Pike (entrances on Route 355 and Monroe Street).
  5. 51 Monroe Street garage (entrance is on Monroe Place).

Street-metered parking is also available around the courthouse. Please note that the parking meters take only quarters (15 min. per quarter) for up to a maximum of 2 hours.

Handicapped Parking

Handicapped parking for 27 Courthouse Square (old District Court building) and 29 Courthouse Square (Red Brick Courthouse) is on Jefferson Street (Route 28) between Washington Street and Maryland Avenue. Please refer to the posted signs located near the handicapped parking to direct you to the appropriate building entrance.

Juror Entrances

For jurors coming from the parking lots, the closest and most accessible entrance is the East Jefferson entrance. Look for the fountain, flags, and the "Optional Juror Entrance" sign.

The entrance nearest the Metro stop is the east side of the building along Monroe Street.
