Kenwood Park Community Sidewalk Proposal

The Kenwood Park Community Sidewalk Proposal offers for examination and testimony the potential installation of a 5-foot-wide, ADA-compliant, concrete sidewalk in the County’s public right of way along the following roadways in Bethesda, Maryland:

  • the south side of Durbin Road from the existing sidewalk at Bradley Boulevard to Hopewood Street;
  • the north, odd-numbered side of Lenox Road from Millwood Road to Whittier Boulevard;
  • the west, even-numbered side of Millwood Road from Plainview Road to Goldsboro Road;
  • the west, even-numbered side of Kenhill Road from Durbin Road to Highboro Drive;
  • the northeast, odd-numbered side of Highboro Drive from Kenhill Road to Whittier Drive

The Kenwood Park sidewalk proposal was issued on January 18, 2023. A virtual public hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 7 p.m. The Hearing Record will remain open through Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 5 p.m., after which a final decision on the proposed installations will be made.

The Virtual Public Hearing for the Kenwood Park Community Sidewalk Proposal will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at 7:00 p.m., to present the project scope, obtain community testimony and answer questions. The hearing will be virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic; you can join us through your computer or by telephone.

Please register in advance to attend the hearing via the online registration form (click here) . On the morning of Wednesday, March 1, 2023, you will receive an email providing the meeting link, passcode, and connection instructions for signing in and using the internet-based virtual platform.

The County welcomes your feedback. Public input adds to the success of any public infrastructure project as it allows the County to understand the concerns of the community.
