A public hearing was held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, May 25, 2006, in the Ninth Floor Conference Room of the Executive Office Building located at 101 Monroe Street in Rockville, Maryland, to consider a proposal to replace the Mouth of Monocacy Road Bridge, No. M-135 over CSX Railroad, a public highway bridge located in Dickerson, Maryland. The plan is to replace the existing deteriorating Mouth of Monocacy Road Bridge and re-construct approximately 360' of approach roadway to tie the new structure into the existing roadway on both sides. The estimated total cost of the proposed improvement is $2,296,000.00 including construction management and inspections, land acquisition, utilities, site improvements and construction. MCEO NO. 141-06: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Glen Cove Parkway Sidewalk - CIP #506747. The County Executive finds that public interest requires construction of a sidewalk in the public right-of-way located in Bethesda, and the director of the Department of Public Works and Transportation is authorized to proceed with the construction of a concrete sidewalk built on the east side of Glen Cove Parkway from Baltimore Ave. to the existing sidewalk at Allan Ter. in Bethesda, Maryland. The sidewalk will be 4' wide, 360 linear feet long and will conform to the requirements of the ADA. Glen Cove Parkway is classified as a secondary residential roadway with an eighty foot public right-of-way. The present roadway is 26' wide. On street parking is allowed on both sides. There is approximately 45' of available public right-of-way on the east side. The new sidewalk, curb and gutter will be constructed within the existing roadway to avoid tree removal and impacts to the creek. The total estimated cost of the project including engineering site improvements and construction is $37,697.00. Effective Date: 4/25/06.

The County Executive finds that public interest requires construction of a sidewalk in the public right-of-way located in Bethesda, and the director of the Department of Public Works and Transportation is authorized to proceed with the construction of a concrete sidewalk built along the west side of Fairfax Rd. from Hampden Ln. to Wessling Ln. and along the east side of Fairfax Road from 6917 Fairfax Rd. to Clarendon Rd. in Bethesda, Maryland, under the Capital Improvement Project 506747. The sidewalk will be four feet wide, 2,000 linear feet long, and will conform to the ADA requirements. Fairfax Rd. is classified as a secondary residential roadway and has a 50' public right-of-way. The existing roadway is approximately 20 feet wide with 15' of available public right-of-way on the west side of Fairfax Rd. from Hampden Ln. to Wessling Ln. and 15' of available public right-of-way on the east side of Fairfax Rd. from 6917 Fairfax Rd. to Clarendon Rd. The sidewalk will be constructed at the back of the curb and gutter. The total estimated cost of the project is $179,530.00. Effective Date: 4/25/06.

The County Executive finds that public interest requires construction of a sidewalk in the public right-of-way located in Bethesda, and the director of the Department of Public Works and Transportation is authorized to proceed with the construction of a concrete sidewalk built on the south side of Elm Street from Exeter Rd. to Clarendon Rd. in Bethesda, Maryland, under the Capital Improvement Project 506747. The sidewalk will be four feet wide, 630 linear feet long, and will conform to the ADA requirements. Elm Street. is classified as a secondary residential roadway and has a 60' public right-of-way. The existing roadway is approximately 24 feet wide with 18' of available public right-of-way on the south side of Elm St. The sidewalk will be constructed at the back of new concrete curb and gutter. The total estimated cost of the project including engineering site improvements and construction is $63,872.00. Effective Date: 4/25/06
MCEO NO. 144-06: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Rainbow Drive Sidewalk (CIP 506747) The County Executive finds that public interest requires construction of a sidewalk in the public right-of-way located in Silver Spring, and the director of the Department of Public Works and Transportation is authorized to proceed with the construction of a concrete sidewalk built along the south side of Rainbow Drive from Good Hope Road to 1201 Rainbow Drive in Silver Spring under the Capital Improvement Project 506747. The sidewalk will be four feet wide, 2,116' long and conform to the ADA requirements. Rainbow Dr. is classified as a primary residential roadway and has a 70' public right-of-way. The existing roadway is approximately 36' wide and on-street parking is allowed in both sides of the roadway. There is approximately 17 feet of available public right-of-way on the south side of Rainbow Drive. The sidewalk will be constructed with a varying greenspace between the sidewalk and edge of roadway. Pursuant to Section 19A-16(b)(3) of the Montgomery County Public Ethics Law, the County Executive authorizes public employees and volunteers of the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, Child and Adolescent Services/Montgomery County Conservation Corps, to solicit gifts for the benefit of the programs and services administered by the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services in accordance with the requirements established in this order.
