MCEO NO. 121-07: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Denton Road/Hampden Lane Sidewalk - CIP 506747. A public hearing was held at 3:30 PM on April 17, 2007, in the Lobby Level Auditorium of the Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe St., Rockville, Maryland, to consider a proposal to provide safe pedestrian travel along the east side of Denton Road/Hampden Lane from 7405 Denton Road to 5109 Hampden Lane, located in Bethesda, Maryland. The project provides a sidewalk 4'wide and will conform to ADA requirements. The total length of the sidewalk is approximately 300 linear feet. Denton Road and Hampden Lane are both classified as secondary residential roadways. Denton Road has a 50' public right-of-way and the existing roadway is approximately 22' wide. There is approximately 14' of available public right-of-way on the east side of Denton Road. Hampden Lane has a 50' public right-of-way and the existing roadway is approximately 20' wide. There is approximately 15' of available public right-of-way on the east side of Hampden Lane. The sidewalk will be constructed with a varying greenspace of zero to three feet. MCEO NO. 122-07: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Father Hurley Boulevard Extended - CIP No. 500516. A public hearing was held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, January 18, 2007, in the Lobby Level Auditorium of the Executive Office Building located at 101 Monroe St, Rockville, Maryland, to consider a proposal to construct an improvement to Father Hurley Boulevard, located in the Germantown Planning Area. The improvement consists of extension and completion of Father Hurley Boulevard as a four lane divided highway from just south of Wisteria Drive to a newly proposed "T" intersection with MD Route 118 located 1,500' north of Clopper Road. The proposed four-lane facility will consist of a closed-section type roadway with 14' outside lanes suitable for mixed on-road use, such as commuter bicycles. Dedicated left-turn bays will be provided at each intersection along the way. New traffic signals are proposed at Route 118, at Hopkins Road and at Wisteria Drive. A continuous five-foot sidewalk is proposed on the east side of the road. The sidewalk is proposed to be between 7' and 14' from the roadway, except on the bridge over the CSX railroad. The existing eight-foot bike path on the west side of the roadway will be extended to run continuously the full length of the project. It will connect with the existing bike path along the north side of Route 118. Construction of a new bridge over the CSX railroad to provide a much-needed connection between existing portions of Father Hurley Boulevard located north and south of the railroad line. The bridge will carry all the lanes of the divided roadway plus the bikeway, sidewalk and the dividing median strip. Two significant retaining walls are proposed to reduce grading impacts to adjacent properties. Landscaping and street trees are provided along both sides of the road and in the "green" median strip. Stormwater management plans meeting all current requirements are included. Forest conservation and reforestation plans are included as well. Installation of street lights for benefit of pedestrians and motorists is included within the limits of the project. The anticipated posted speed limit for the completed roadway will be 35 mph. The total estimated cost of the project, including engineering, right-of-way, site improvements and construction is $16,282,000.00. Effective Date: 4/3/07.
MCEO NO. 123-07: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Valley Brook Drive Pedestrian Path CIP No. 508000. A public hearing was held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, April 17, 2007, in the Lobby Level Auditorium of the Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe St., Rockville, Maryland, to consider a proposal to provide safe pedestrian travel on Outlot A, Block 1, Springbrook Estates, which is an abandoned unimproved public right-of-way along Valley Brook Drive from Valley Brook Court to 101 Valley Brook Drive, located in Silver Spring, Maryland. The project provides an asphalt sidewalk 5' wide and will conform to the ADA requirements. The total length of the sidewalk is 540 linear feet. The pedestrian bridge over the stream will be approximately 8' wide and 40' in length, and will be constructed in relocated easement area. Valley Brook Drive is classified as a secondary residential roadway and is 60' wide. Estimated cost of the proposed improvement and estimated funding allocations are as follows: Construction costs - $156,000.00; administrative and construction inspection costs - $62,000.00; total estimated cost of the project, including engineering, site improvements and construction - $218,000.00 Effective Date: 4/3/07.

Executive Order No. 84-07 is amended to increase the number of members of the Affordable Housing Task Force from no more than 24 to no more than 40.
