MCEO NO. 119-10: DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Elm Street Proposed Sidewalk (CIP #506747). The County Executive finds that public interest requires the construction of a sidewalk to provide safe pedestrian travel along the north side of Elm Street from Claredon Road to Arlington Road, in Bethesda, Maryland with the 7th election District. The Director of the Department of Transportation is hereby authorized to proceed with the construction of a concrete sidewalk under Capital Improvement Project No. 506747 (Annual Sidewalk Program). The sidewalk will be five feet wide and will conform to the ADA requirements. The total length of the sidewalk is approximately 420 linear feet. Elm Street is classified as a secondary residential roadway and has a 60-foot public right-of-way. The existing roadway is 26 feet wide. There is approximately 17 feet of available public right-of-way on the north side of Elm Street. The green space located between the sidewalk and edge of pavement will vary. Every effort will be made during the construction to cause minimal disturbance within the public right-of-way. A public hearing was conducted on the project at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2009, in the Lobby Level auditorium of the Executive Office Building, the hearing examiner recommended approval of the project. Unless otherwise approved by the County, expenditure authorized by this Order plus expenditures accrued to date for this project shall not exceed $44,356.00 and shall be made payable from funds appropriated for CIP No. 506747. Effective Date: 05/17/10

MCEO NO. 120-10: DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Public Hearing - Henderson Avenue Storm Drain and Roadway Improvements (CIP 501108). A public hearing will be held before the County Executive or his designee at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 in the first floor Auditorium of the Council Office Building, 100 Maryland Avenue, Rockville Maryland 20850. The purpose of the hearing is to consider a proposal to install a storm drain system and roadway improvements along Henderson Avenue from Georgia Avenue to its terminus in Wheaton Regional Park, located in the 5th Election District. Project related data and files are available for examination in the offices of the Department of Transportation on the 4th Floor of 100 Edison Park Drive, Gaithersburg, Maryland. Unless otherwise approved by the County, expenditures authorized by this Order plus expenditures accrued to date for this project shall not exceed $2,270,000.00 and shall be made payable from funds appropriated for CIP Project No. 501108. The purpose of the hearing is solely to obtain public comments to assist the County Executive in the determination of whether or not to authorize this project. Effective Date: 05/27/10

MCEO NO. 126-10: DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION - Public Hearing - Abandonment of Portion of Shady Grove Road at Darnestown Road Shady Grove Life Center. A public hearing will be held before the County Executive or his designee at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 13, 2010 in the Lobby Level Auditorium of the Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville Maryland 20850. The purpose of the hearing is to consider an application received from the Department of General Services, the applicant, seeking abandonment of a portion of right-of-way on Shady Grove Road at Darnestown Road in the Shady Grove Life Sciences Center. After the aforesaid hearing, the Hearing Officer shall report his or findings and recommendations to the County Executive for further consideration as prescribed by County Code.
