MCER NO. 20-08: PROPOSED MONTGOMERY COUNTY FIRE AND RESCUE REGULATION - Emergency Medical Service Transport Fee SUMMARY: The proposed regulation establishes (1) an Emergency Medical Services Transport Fee (EMS Transport Fee) schedule; and (2) a requirement that an individual who receives an Emergency Medical Services transport provide certain information and execute an assignment of certain health insurance benefits. The fee schedule, including the mileage rate, may be amended based on any additional financial analysis received before approval of the final regulation. An amendment will be considered to establish a process or formula to distribute a portion of the revenue received from the EMS fee to the Local Fire and Rescue Departments. Comment is invited on an appropriate process or formula for distributing revenue from the EMS fee to the Local Fire and Rescue Departments.
