MCER NO. 25-08AM:   ADOPTED DEPARTMENT OF FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE REGULATION

Apparatus Staffing Policy

SUMMARY:  This regulation establishes staffing levels for fire and rescue apparatus.  It was amended to ensure operational efficiency on all fire and rescue incidents.  The adopted regulation supersedes Temporary Regulation 25 08T.

ACTION:  Executive Regulation 25-08AM, was approved by the County Council according to the Method 2 process, effective October 13, 2009.

MCER NO. 36-08AM:   ADOPTED DEPARTMENT OF FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE REGULATION 

Certification Standards for Training, Experience, and Credentialing Requirements

SUMMARY:  This regulation was amended to require all MCFRS personnel who are listed on the Integrated Emergency Command Structure (IECS) to complete training in the standardized National Incident Management System-Incident Command System (NIMS-ICS), in compliance with Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD) #5 dated 2/23/03 and Sec. 21-8A of the Montgomery County Code.  The adopted regulation supersedes Executive Regulation 21-06AM.

ACTION:  Executive Regulation 36-08AM, was approved by the County Council according to the Method 2 process, effective October 13, 2009.

MCER NO. 7-09:       ADOPTED OFFICE OF HUMAN RESOURCES REGULATION

Military Family Leave and Other Family and Medical Leave Amendments to the

                               2001 Montgomery County Personnel Regulations

SUMMARY:  This regulation amends Section 19 of the 2001 Montgomery County Personnel Regulations to encompass new military family leave entitlements included in amendments to the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 (FMLA) enacted as part of the National Defense Authorization Act for FY 2008 that was signed into law by President Bush on January 28, 2008.  The changes in this regulation also reflect the final rule issued by the U.S. Department of Labor on November 17, 2008, updating and clarifying its FMLA regulations.

ACTION:  Executive Regulation 7-09, was approved by the County Council according to the Method 1 process, effective September 22, 2009.
