Loans are not permitted. Contributions must remain in your account until you retire or terminate employment with the County or your participating agency.
If you participate in either the County (Fidelity – 240-777-8228) or Union Deferred Compensation plan (MassMutual – 800-743-5274), you may be eligible for a hardship withdrawal as defined by the Internal Revenue Code. Contact your plan administrator, either Fidelity or MassMutual, directly for additional information.
Your beneficiary forms are maintained by the Office of Human Resources (OHR), Records Management team. You can request a copy of your beneficiary forms or obtain a blank beneficiary form by contacting the OHR at 240-777-0311, www.montgomerycountymd.gov/hr.
The Office of Human Resources administers leave according to the County’s Personnel Regulations and any collective bargaining agreements. For questions regarding leave, please contact OHR at 240-777-0311.

ERS Retirees
Complete and submit a Retiree Change of Address/Name form (PDF).
You can also change your address online via your AccessMCG Self Service account. If you have not registered, contact MCERP at 240-777-8230 or [email protected] to request your temporary login information.
ERS Inactives
Complete and submit a Retiree Change of Address/Name form (PDF).
Retirees are paid on the first business day of each month. If the first falls on a weekend or holiday, payment will be on the first Federal Reserve banking day of the month.
All retirement payments must be processed by direct deposit.
The following deductions can be withheld from your retirement annuity:
- Federal taxes
- MD state taxes
- Health/Life Insurance premiums
- Child Support
- Tax Liens/Levy
