Nestor Alvarenga - Director
Nestor Alvarenga, the Director of the Mid-County Regional Office for Montgomery County. In his role, he will lead efforts to strengthen collaboration between the County government, residents, businesses, and community organizations in the Wheaton and the broader Mid-County area.
Nestor has more than 15 years of experience in public affairs and community engagement across the public, non-profit, and private sectors, Nestor has dedicated his career to building partnerships that advance equity and inclusion. Prior to his current role, he worked with the County's Office of Community Partnerships (OCP), supporting the Language Access Program and providing technical assistance to County departments and community stakeholders. He also served as Community Affairs Manager for Telemundo44/NBC4 Washington and as the County's Latino Community Liaison in OCP from 2014-2017.
Nestor's career also includes national and international work advocating for immigrant rights, worker protections, and inclusive policies.
Nestor holds both a master's degree in Public Management and a bachelor's degree in Government and Politics, both from the University of Maryland.
