Therapeutic Recreation
We provide accessible recreation, leisure skills and personal development activities for individuals with disabilities through adaptive programs and inclusion (mainstreaming). Therapeutic Recreation programs can help individuals to gain confidence, have fun and make an impact in their lives.
The Therapeutic Recreation and Inclusion Services Team is dedicated to providing a wide range of fun, innovative, inclusive, accessible and social recreational experiences for individuals with disabilities.
Our goal is to enhance the health, well-being and quality of life for Montgomery County residents of all abilities. Therapeutic Recreation programs are specifically designed for individuals with disabilities. We also offer Inclusion Services in which accommodations may be provided so an individual with a disability can participate in any MCR program we offer.
We offer classes such as aquatics, art, dance, fitness, sports and more. Additional programs geared toward adults include social activities and special events. We also offer camps for youth and teens aged 6-21 years, as well as family events for all ages.

The Montgomery County Therapeutic Recreation and Inclusion Services Team offers a range of accommodations, classes, special events and social activities for individuals with disabilities. These programs/classes have a higher staff-to-participant ratio, smaller class size, and more structure than general programs and classes. Successful Leisure Experience
Recreation activities offer opportunities for meeting others, engaging in social interactions, and developing friendships. It is often these relationships that make recreation programs so meaningful. It is our goal to help all participants have a successful leisure experience. The Therapeutic Recreation staff works with our customers to match their needs within Recreation programs.
