About Us

The Silver Spring Regional Services Center is the local government office for the area between Rock Creek Park & the Prince Georges County line, the area south of I-495 to the District of Columbia, including all of the City of Takoma Park, & Four Corners neighborhoods north of I-495.

Our mission is to Enhance communication between the community and various County Government agencies, ensuring that all voices are heard. Coordinate interagency actions, addressing the unique needs of each local area, and promoting collaboration among public, private, and community sectors. Recommend programs and policies that are thoughtfully tailored to the distinct needs and aspirations of the Silver Spring community.

Boards and Committees

The Silver Spring Regional Area has several boards and committees which meet on a monthly basis. Community members may attend these meetings and may also request an agenda or minutes for any of these meetings. Silver Spring Citizens Advisory Board (SSCAB) and Silver Spring Urban District Advisory Committee ( SSUDAC) serve the Silver Spring region.

How to Reserve

The Silver Spring Civic Building and Veterans Plaza is booked through the Community Use of Public Facilities (CUPF). CUPF provides community organizations and public agencies with access to public schools and government facilities for community services, programs, and events. CUPF issues use permits for public access to County facilities at scheduled times. Visit the Community Use of Public Facilities (CUPF) website or call CUPF at 240-777-5350 to reserve rooms or spaces.

Users may request space for events as far as 60 days in advance but should provide a minimum of 45 days' notice. Last minute reservations will be considered no more than 14 days' notice. Reservations requests can be submitted through ActiveMONTGOMERY.

Elected Officials

The Silver Spring region is served by County Executive Marc Elrich and two district county council members. Kate Stewart - District 4, and Kristin Mink - District 5. At Large Council members are Gabe Albornoz, Evan Glass, Will Jawando, and Laurie-Anne Sayles
