The presented information includes; project description, design and/or construction status, project schedule, project presentation information and contact information. This information is presented and updated regularly to keep stakeholders informed of the building’s progress from the design phase through bidding and construction.

The Office of Energy and Sustainability projects include installation of solar panels and on-site clean power generation systems (microgrids) on County facilities to reduce the impact of County government operations on the environment and improve the County’s resiliency to storms and other disasters. Appellate Court Judge Chamber
- 50 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, MD 20850
- A judge's chamber for a new Court of Special Appeals judge will be constructed at the Montgomery County Circuit Court. In addition, a server room will be reconfigured for use for Circuit Court staff that are displaced by construction of the new chamber. The Maryland Court system consists of three levels of courts that include the appellate, circuit court, and district courts. Montgomery County is in the 7th appellate circuit and has one Court of Appeals judge and now three Court of Special Appeals judges that reside at the courthouse. This will be the first time that a fourth appellate judge will be housed in Montgomery Count

Childcare Renovations

- These facilities allow childcare providers in various parts of the County to provide affordable, quality, and safe childcare services to residents with young children. Each facility provides space for program function including administrative staff, classrooms, associated support functions, and playgrounds for children ages 0-12. This program provides for renovation or replacement of CCIPS childcare facilities to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and safety concerns.

Diversion Center

- • This project provides for design and construction of the Diversion Center (DC). This will be a facility that will provide a continuum of care for those in crisis in an appropriate community-based setting. The Diversion Center will complement the “Crisis Now” model in Montgomery County by offering services to the population of Montgomery County who are in crisis and need Behavioral Health Services such as mental health, substance use disorder and other types of crises.

- This project, located at 1451 Seven Locks Road, Rockville, provides for the design of an approximately 116,000 gross square foot (GSF) Justice Complex (JC) with parking.

Kennedy Shriver Aquatic Center
- 5900 Executive Blvd. Rockville, MD 20852
- The Kennedy Shriver Aquatic Center opened in 1989. It consists of a 50 meter competitive swimming and diving pool, a 200 foot water flume, a separate leisure pool with two hydrotherapy areas, and a diving tower. Since its opening, the center has had problems related to the movement and condensation of moist indoor air through the building's exterior masonry walls, resulting in roof leakage throughout the building.

Kensington Volunteer Fire Station 5, Resurfacing

- The scope of work will be to repair and resurface the parking lot and to provide ADA accessible routes of access to the public meeting room and public entrance along with required ADA parking.

Lincoln High School Renovation
- 595 N Stonestreet Ave, Rockville, MD 20850
- The former Lincoln High School is a landmark in Montgomery County's black education history. Opened in 1935, it is the oldest remaining high school building and the only junior high school constructed for black students in Montgomery County. The renovation includes roof replacement and building envelope repair, in order to protect further deterioration of the building.

Lynching Memorial - County Office Building

- The Montgomery County Remembrance and Reconciliation Commission has partnered with the Alabama-based Equal Justice Initiative and other stakeholders to help our County claim and install a memorial in remembrance of the know victims of lynching in Montgomery County which have been documented.

Red Brick Courthouse Structural Repairs
- 29 Courthouse Sq, Rockville, MD 20850
- Phase I of this project provided for the rehabilitation of the flooring system in the Red Brick Courthouse at 29 Courthouse Square in Rockville. The structural integrity of the flooring system was weakened by modifications made over the years to accommodate various electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems. Phase II will provide for a limited historic rehabilitation of the Courthouse and preserve the building exterior. Work will include the replacement of Life Safety systems, modifications to make the facility compliant with the requirements for the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), repair for moisture infiltration issues, and repair and replacement of the building exterior, masonry, copper fittings, and roofing. All work will be performed in compliance with requirements and oversight of the Maryland Historical Society and per existing County regulation and easements.

White Flint Fire Station #23

- The project is currently in the conceptual design phase. The new station will be constructed in accordance with the general square footage specifications of the prototype program. The building will be a one-story fire station with 5 bays located at the corner of Randolph Road and Maple Avenue. The project will house fire and rescue and police functions. The project is required to meet IGCC requirements, and a net zero study will be done to look at the feasibility of making the building net zero.

Holiday Park Net Zero Initiative

- This project provides for the design and construction of an improved building façade which includes window replacement and a new building exterior for Holiday Park Senior Center. The purpose of this project is to improve life expectancy of the facility and to support the County’s 2035 goal of zero Green House Gas (GHC) emissions for the operation of the County facility.

Long Branch Library Canopy

- This project provides for installation of a new pre-engineered outdoor fabric shade canopy over existing roof plaza at Long Branch Library in the Silver Spring. In addition to the canopy, five new poles with steel cables supporting the canopy will also be constructed on site.

Martin Luther King Swim Center Renovation

- The Martin Luther King, Jr. Swim Center is a 19,000 SF facility consisting of a competition indoor pool, indoor teach pool, hot tubs as well as an outdoor pool. The indoor two-floor facility has a meeting room, party room, locker rooms, restrooms, exercise rooms, gallery overlooking the competition pool, offices, etc. There is also a separate building with locker rooms and restrooms servicing the outdoor pool. This facility is being renovated following recommendations of the facility assessment and condition report that was performed in 2018.

Silver Spring Fiber Hub

- The County is relocating its existing fiber hub located within Garage 2, 8700 Cameron Street, Silver Spring to 8904 Fairview Road, Silver Spring as part of a General Development Agreement executed with United Therapeutics Corporation. The new fiber hub building will contain requisite IT equipment to facilitate the County’s IT infrastructure.

6th District Police Station
- 222 Paramount Park Drive, Gaithersburg, MD 20879
- This project provides for planning, design, and construction of a new 28,294 gross square feet 6th District Police Station and a new parking garage of 59,526 gross square feet in two levels to serve Gaithersburg/Montgomery Village and vicinity. The Station will be in a new development located on extended Watkins Mill Road between I-270 and MD-355. The district station is a facility consisting of two floors and parking for the public and staff.

Clarksburg Fire Station
- 23420 Frederick Road, Clarksburg, MD 20871
- This project provides for a new Fire/Rescue Station in the Clarksburg area and the purchase of associated fire apparatus. The new facility will be located at 23420 Frederick Road in Clarksburg. The new station will be constructed in accordance with the requirements for a Class I Fire Station. A Class I Fire Station is 19,550 to 20,135 square feet in size and includes apparatus bays, dormitory and support space, personnel living quarters, administrative offices and meeting/training room. Additionally, this station will include offices for a Battalion Chief, a Police satellite facility, space for the Up County Regional Services Center and personal protective equipment storage totaling 2,600 square feet. The total square footage of this station will be 17,295 square feet. On-site parking will be provided. Fire/Rescue apparatus to be purchased for this station includes an aerial truck, a tanker and a brush truck.

- This project provides for a new library in the Clarksburg area. The new facility will be located at 23200 Stringtown Road, Clarksburg, MD 20871. A new library is necessary in this area due to the present and projected population density for the Clarksburg area.

Damascus Senior Center Refurbishment

- The scope of work consists of addressing the findings of the Damascus Senior Center Facility Assessment which includes ADA remediations, building systems remediation, and improving the senior center by providing a new customer service front counter, reconfiguring lobby area to include a gathering area and computer stations, expanding the fitness room, renovating the restrooms, replacing the storefront entrances, new carpeting and paint, all new furniture and some shelving, adding a lactation room, providing an outdoor fitness area, improving the kitchen area, making changes to the two-wing-building HVAC system so that the Senior Center wing is served independently of the Library wing, and various other improvements.

Gaithersburg Fire Station 8, Female Facility Upgrade

- The purpose of this project is to build a new women's locker room, showers and restroom. Work for this project will be done in 2 phases. The 1st phase will be to demolish the existing storage room on the lower level and build a new larger women's locker room with restrooms and showers.
