The Thinking for a Change (T4C) program provides selected program participants with an opportunity to identify and examine the thinking and decision making patterns that have contributed to their contact with the criminal justice system. Using a cognitive behavioral model, program participants learn pro-social communication and problem solving skills. All new residents receive a 5-hour introductory module on Cognitive Behavioral Change. Residents assessed as high risk are referred for continuing T4C program over four weeks, addressing social skills and problem solving. T4C’s Thinking Reports are used within the disciplinary process to reflect on the thoughts, feelings, attitudes and beliefs that affect our behavior.
