Current Phase: Bid
The bid package was sent out in January 2025, and the bid is due at the end of February. Construction will start in April.
The County has retained Sheladia Associates, Inc. to design the Damascus Library Refurbishment and upon completion of the design phase perform construction administration tasks during the construction phase. The scope of work consists of addressing the findings of the Damascus Library Facility Assessment which includes ADA remediations, building systems remediation, and improving the library by creating a single service desk, adding collaboration rooms, renovating the restrooms, relocating the IT room, replacing the storefront entrances, new carpeting and paint, all new furniture and some shelving, adding a lactation room, making changes to the two-wing-building HVAC system so that the Library wing is served independently of the Senior Center wing, and various other improvements. Sheladia Associates, Inc. will also design the Damascus Senior Center Refurbishment given that the refurbishment work of both facilities will be done simultaneously since the Damascus Library and the Damascus Senior Center are located in their own wings of the same building and share the building entrance lobby.
