Leighton Avenue Access Restriction

MCDOT has initiated the process to install a regulatory sign to restrict right turns from westbound Franklin Avenue to Leighton Avenue from 7:00 – 9:00 AM and from 4:00 – 6:00 PM Monday through Friday, pursuant to a request made by the residents of Leighton Avenue, in accordance with  Executive Regulation 17-94AM, “Through Traffic Volume Access Restrictions in Residential Areas”. The Regulation maybe viewed at the link below.

In accordance with the Regulation a “ Community Discussion Paper” was prepared and may be view at link below. You may share comments/feedback at  leighton.avenue@montgomerycountymd.gov until, Friday January 31, 2025.

A virtual (online) public hearing will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. MCDOT will present the project details, obtain resident testimony, and answer questions.
