RESIDENTIAL PERMIT PARKING (RPP) PROGRAM

The Residential Permit Parking (RPP) Program began in 1974 to reduce the impact of non-residents parking on neighborhood streets in areas near certain public facilities and land uses (such as Metrorail stations). Parking by too many non-residents can restrict resident access to on-street parking, increase air and noise pollution, and create unsafe traffic conditions. The program is not designed to resolve on-street parking issues created by adjacent or neighboring residential properties. The RPP program is governed by Executive Regulation 13-23

Conforme a RPP, las restricciones básicas de estacionamiento con permiso se aplican de lunes a viernes de 9:00 a.m. a 5:00 p.m. Sin embargo, el Departamento de Transporte del Condado de Montgomery considerará ampliar los días u horarios de estacionamiento restringido dependiendo del caso y de los problemas específicos en la comunidad.

On Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 6:30 p.m., the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will held a virtual public hearing to discuss the proposed modification to increase the size of the existing Highland Stone Residential Permit Parking Area in Potomac to the limits shown in the map below.
