Progress has come incrementally [since 1995], though a flurry of new developments have sprung up in recent years in response to growth at Fort Meade, where an estimated 20,000 jobs have been added over the past the decade.

Residential development has been experiencing an uptick and it doesn't look like it'll end any time soon, officials said.... While much of this is being planned around Odenton because of the presence of Fort George G. Meade, there is also infill development planned in Arnold, Pasadena and Severna Park.
