What do partners do?
Partnership is not a one-size-fits-all approach. We’ll work with partners to select creative, impactful, and mutually beneficial ways of ensuring everyone in Montgomery County to be counted. There are many ways to make a difference as a 2020 Census Partner including:
- Designate a Census Captain for your organization. Census Captains are representatives from your organization selected to attend a census training and serve as a trusted source of information within your organization regarding the 2020 Census, serves as a liaison between your organization/community and our office, and help manage any census related activity or materials for organization/community.
- Providing information to your community, customers, members, or stakeholders about the importance and benefits of participating in the 2020 Census.
- Using Montgomery County and Census Bureau materials and messaging in creative ways to increase public participation—for example, through newsletters, websites, and social media.
- Invite the U.S. Census Bureau to present at your next event or host a 2020 Census informational or Q&A session.
- Promote census hiring: Share our 2020 Census recruitment website 2020census.gov/jobs
- Register as a location where residents can respond to the 2020 Census online, beginning in mid-March 2020.
