Business Resource Partners
Business resource partners are available to work with Montgomery County businesses no matter what stage the business is in – pre-startup, startup, growing, exiting. These organizations provide experts that will help take your business to the next level through training, consulting and access to capital. Leverage these resources for valuable insight and guidance for your business planning.
The Maryland Women’s Business Center (MWBC) works with women entrepreneurs across the state by way of our three locations to start, sustain, and grow their businesses. Through workshops, individual counseling, facilitated peer group support, special resources, and access to capital, MWBC annually helps more than 1,500 women gain the skills, connections, and confidence necessary to navigate entrepreneurship. Men are also welcome at workshops and training sessions.
The Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC) provides Montgomery County businesses with training, counseling and financial products. As a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) LEDC administers several loan programs including a microloan program funded by Montgomery County Government. Loans can be used for a variety of purposes, including the purchase of vehicles, equipment and inventory, the renovation or expansion of a business locations and staffing.
The Maryland Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network has provided sound advice, consulting and support to entrepreneurs and small businesses across the state. They are part of a national SBDC network—founded in 1979—that helps over 500,000 U.S. businesses annually.
Life Asset is a non-profit organization that funds entrepreneurs in the Washington metropolitan area. Life Asset provides microloans, training and support to small businesses without access to traditional sources of financing. Montgomery County contracts with Life Asset to administer a microloan program available to Montgomery County businesses.
SCORE Washington DC services businesses in Montgomery County by providing training and mentoring services. SCORE counselors offer mentoring at several Montgomery County libraries and classes in a variety of convenient locations. Businesses can also use SCORE’s matchmaking tools to find mentors throughout the organization’s national network of volunteers.
