This project involves the design and construction of a, approximately 1400' long, shared-use path along the west side of Norwood Road, from MD108 (Olney-Sandy Spring Road) to Ashton Forest / Nesbitt Farm Lane. As part of the Heritage Triangle Trail, once complete, will provide safe cyclist and pedestrian access to various public facilities and historical sites within the Sandy Spring area as well as connect to the larger network.
On Thursday, May 1, 2025, the Montgomery County Planning Board will conduct a Mandatory Referral Hearing on this project. The meeting is open to the public. Interested community members and the public are encouraged to listen and provide written and/or oral testimonies regarding this project.

A Public Meeting will be held on Wednesday September 25, 2024, at 6:30 PM to talk about the project. The project team will present the current (70%) designs for the project, collect your feedback, as well as answer any questions you might have about this project. Registration is required.
This meeting will be accessible both in-person and virtually, and meeting materials will be posted on the project website prior to the scheduled meeting. The in-person meeting will be held at the Olney Library (3500 Olney Laytonsville Road, Olney MD 20832), and the virtual meeting link will be sent out via email prior.
