Step 1: Select the Submit Service Request link or menu button
If you are on the Snow Information Portal Home page then select the Submit a Service Request link (see figure below).
If you are on any other Winter Storm Information Portal web page, then click Submit a Service Request in the button menu.
Step 2. Select the Submit a Montgomery County Service Request button
Service requests can be submitted to Montgomery County for County maintained roads and/or to the State of Maryland Highway Administration for State maintained roads.
Step 3: Submit a Service Request to Montgomery County
Select the appropriate button to report a missed street, a pothole, property damage, an icy street or intersection, a roadway incident, or an unshoveled sidewalk. Requests to initiate an investigation to determine who maintains a street located in Montgomery County can be submitted as well.
Step 4: Read the MC311 knowledge based article and create a service request
Take a moment to read the brief knowledge base article. Then, select the blue Create Service Request button at the bottom of the page.
Step 5: Submit the Service Request form to MC311
Complete the form to submit a service request to MC311. Required fields are indicated with a red asterisk (*). You can submit a service request for a street address, an intersection, or a highway exit.

Step 2: Select the Submit a Service Request to the Maryland State Highway Administration button
Service requests can be submitted to Montgomery County for County maintained roads and/or to the State of Maryland Highway Administration for State maintained roads.
Step 3: Submit a Service Request to the State of Maryland Highway Administration
Select the submit an online service request to the Maryland State Highway Administration link to report an issue with a State road.
Step 4: Complete and submit the service request form to the Maryland State Highway Administration
Complete and submit the Maryland State Highway Administration Service Request form.
Step 1: Click 'Who Plows My Street?' on the Snow Information Portal Home Page
If you are on the Snow Information Portal Home page then select the Who Plows My Street link (see figure below).
If you are on any other Winter Storm Information Portal web page, then click the Snow Removal Status button provided in the button menu.
Step 2: Enter your street name and zip code (i.e... 100 MARYLAND AVE, 20850)
Step 3: Review results
If the street is maintained by the Montgomery County Department of Transportation, following screen will show:
If the street is not maintained by the Montgomery County Department of Transportation, then the State or the local government contact information will be provided as follows:
If the street address location is
not found, then the following message will appear.
Click the Address Searching Tips button to open a tips screen to determine how to find a Montgomery County street address using the Winter Storm Information Portal address search tool. Also, the tips screen will provide access to common reasons why you area unable to find an address.
Important Note:
You can determine who plows your street at any time throughout the year. If you believe that the results are inaccurate, then you may
request an investigation to determine if Montgomery County maintains your street or sidewalk.
Step 1: Click 'Check Snow Removal Status' on the Snow Information Portal Home Page
If you are on the Snow Information Portal Home page then select the Check Snow Removal Status link (see figure below).
If you are on any other Winter Storm Information Portal web page, then click the Snow Removal Status button provided in the button menu.
Step 2: Enter your street name and zip code (i.e... 100 MARYLAND AVE, 20850)
Step 3. Review results
If the street is maintained by the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT), following message box will show:
If the street is not maintained by the Montgomery County Department of Transportation, then the State or the local government contact information will be provided as follows:
If the street address location is
not found, then the following message will appear.
Click the Address Searching Tips button to open a tips screen to determine how to find a Montgomery County street address using the Winter Storm Information Portal address search tool. Also, the tips screen will provide access to common reasons why you area unable to find an address.
Step 4. Determine snow removal route status for an address maintained by the County
If the street is maintained by the County and a winter storm event is in progress, then the route and service area snow removal status for the address entered will display. Beneath the snow removal status information, several buttons are available to enable you to determine who else plows roads in the County, obtain the latest information on delays, closings, and storm status, identify traffic incidents, and show traffic cameras.
The latest government delays, closings, and storm information updates are also provided on the Winter Storm Information Portal home page.
Step 1: Select the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) link or button
A link to the FAQ web page is located on the Winter Storm Information Portal home page in the Need Help? section of the page.
If you are on any other Winter Storm Information Portal web page, then click the Frequently Asked Questions button provided in the button menu at the top right of the page.
Step 2: Enter a keyword or a phrase to search the FAQ's
To search the winter storm FAQ's, enter a keyword or phrase such as emergency or emergency route in the search field provided. The FAQ's with the keyword or phrase will be filtered and will display beneath the search field.
Step 3: Select the FAQ button to display the answer
Select the FAQ accordion button to display the answer (see example below).
Important Note:
You may also browse through the FAQ list without searching and select a FAQ button to display the answer to the question.
- Make sure to use the autocomplete function to pick a valid County street name and zip code as you type
- You must place a comma between the street name type or suffix and the zip code (i.e... 100 MARYLAND AVE, 20850)
- If your street name begins or ends with a cardinal direction (i.e... N, S, E, W), then try entering the direction's initials before or after the street name (i.e...W GREENVALE PKWY, 20815 or UNIVERSITY E BLVD, 20783)
- Only enter numeric values in the Street Number field
- No need to enter a City or State in the Street Name and Zip Code field
- Enter street type abbreviations (i.e... LN, ST, AVE, RD, CIR, DR, etc...) rather than spelling them out.
A list of County street type abbreviations and their definitions is provided below:

- The address is actually not located in Montgomery County, Maryland
- The street number, street name, or zip code are incorrectly entered
- The address is a new address that has not yet been added to the County's Storm Operations database
- A valid County street address entered by a user does not match the address street name, direction (i.e... N, S, E, W), or type (i.e... ST, LN, AVE. etc...) provided in the County's Storm Operations database. Select the Street Address Searching Tips button for assistance for this issue.
