Growing Business and Generating Jobs
The Council has created legislation that will put in place clear target metrics, strategies and concrete measures for increasing business activity in the County. The Council is doing this with the support of the
Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC), whose mission is to help businesses grow in Montgomery County.
Here is how we will get there:
- Strengthen and Streamline the County’s Economic Development Strategy - Bill 10-21
- Financial Relief and Lower Fees for Businesses - Bill 40-20
- Supporting Businesses During the COVID-19 Pandemic
- Minority, Female and Disabled-Owned Business Program – Bill 29-21
MCEDC partners with County and State officials to provide information on incentives, tax credits and County-led initiatives that support businesses. They also provide specialized support for minority-owned, women-owned and veteran-owned businesses. MCEDC also is central to the Council’s comprehensive approach to strengthening and streamlining the County’s economic strategic activities.
