Norbeck Manor Stormwater Pond Retrofit Project
The Norbeck Manor Stormwater Pond was selected for upgrades and improvements after a 2018 inspection of the pond conducted by DEP revealed several structural issues. Repair work on the pond, which was originally constructed in 1988, will also bring the pond into compliance with current safety and performance standards to reduce the impacts of stormwater runoff on our local streams and the Chesapeake Bay.
Upgrades and improvements to the stormwater management pond include: removal of accumulated sediment to reestablish the original pond bottom elevation, replace the existing corrugated metal riser with a new concrete riser structure, replace the existing corrugated metal spillway pipe with a 42" round concrete pipe through the dam, forebays will be created at each of the two stormwater inflow pipes to capture sediment, aquatic plants will be planted around the perimeter of the pond.
