On-street parking meters or facilities do not require payment on County observed holidays.
- Peel off the white paper backing and place the clear plastic pocket on the driver's side of the vehicle, on either the front or rear window. Insert the sticker in the pocket so it is visible from outside the vehicle.
- Display of Permits in a manner which hinders visibility to the Enforcement Officer may result in the issuance of a Parking Violation Notice.
- If a permit is lost or misplaced it cannot be replaced without payment of the applicable fee.
- If you forget to renew, or you renewed but the permit did not arrive by the first of the month, it will be necessary to pay meter fees.
- It is illegal to park longer than the hours stated on the parking meter. Inserting additional coins after the maximum time has elapsed does not extend the allowable time a vehicle may remain parked in the same space.
- The fine for overtime parking is $60.
- Long Term parking is available at public parking lots and garages.
- Display Parking Permit clearly and visible to the Enforcement Officer.
- Pay for the meter before the time expires.
- Carpool permits may park only in the signs indicating "Carpool Permit Parking Only"
- Display proper (Resident Permit, Permanent Visitor Permit, or Temporary Visitor Permit).
- Only vehicles displaying valid handicap tags or placards may park at a space reserved for handicap parking.
- Observe time limits on meters.

- Montgomery County allows overnight parking as long as the vehicle is not staying for a long period of time in the same space. Division of Parking is not liable for theft or vandalism that may occur.
- Double-check to make sure you park in a long-term parking space (9 to 15 hours). If you park in a short-term space (four hours or less), you may get ticketed.
- Make sure you know the hours that require payment. Parking is free on Sundays and County observed holidays .
- Enter your 3-digit Zone number located on signs in the garage,
- Select Park or select Montgomery County MD from list,
- Enter your 4-digit Space number,
- Double check your Space and Vehicle Plate,
- Start your session.
- “Park Up To 15Hr Max” your expiration time is based on how much you have paid.
- “Enter # Hr To Park” your fee based on how many hours you wish to park. You must pay the whole amount to complete the transaction.
- “Multi-Day 14 Day Max” your fee based on how many days you wish to park. You must pay the whole amount to complete the transaction.
