Gun Prosecution Unit

Throughout the Nation and in Montgomery County, there has been an increase in gun violence due in part to the online sales of ghost guns. This office has created the Gun Prosecution Unit to address this issue. The Unit is comprised of six dedicated Assistant State’s Attorneys and two investigators. The Gun Prosecution Unit works closely with the Montgomery County Police Department. Special attention is given to any gun case involving an individual under the age of 21. Maryland law prohibits possession of a firearm by anyone under that age.
