Holiday Volunteering and Donations
Holiday Volunteer Opportunities
During the winter holiday season, you can find ways to help with all kinds of holiday needs sponsored by a variety of local organizations. These include everything from wrapping gifts to volunteering at holiday events to donating meals or gifts for families in need. If you aren't able to find a volunteer opportunity that fits your schedule during this season, remember that organizations that serve the needy seek assistance all year--and especially after the holidays. Find them and learn more about their missions and year-round needs by searching our list of organizations dedicated to basic needs/food/shelter.Looking for a meaningful holiday gift that embraces the concept of giving in every way? Try this: Volunteer in honor of your loved ones. Pick a cause they care about from among those you can filter for in our organization database--everything from animal welfare to health to arts & culture--to find ways to help. Then simply sign up and serve. Don't have time to fit in your volunteer service before your gift-giving time? You could pledge to volunteer for a particular project, perhaps committing to serve every month for one or more organizations. That way, maybe your gift recipients will be able to join you!
Donations
Holiday Giving Project
Interested in supporting families in need during the upcoming holidays? The Montgomery County Holiday Giving Project matches families with groups of volunteers, non-profits, religious organizations, and local municipalities to provide services to families in need during the holidays. These groups often rely on donations from the broader community to meet the demand for these services. To learn more about sponsoring a family or making a donation, contact or visit the website of one of the partner organizations below.

Monetary Donations Make Thoughtful Gifts
During this holiday gift season, consider honoring your friends and family with a donation to a nonprofit or government agency. Many organizations based in our area offer easy and meaningful ways to make financial contributions in the names of your gift recipients (and typically provide them with a card or letter acknowledgment.)
