The Burtonsville Park and Ride was included in a 2021 Request for Developer Proposals for the redevelopment of the site. First Equity Holdings was chosen as the selected developer. Due to market conditions, the project is pivoting from multifamily rental to for sale townhomes, with 15%Moderately Priced Dwelling Units (MPDUs) and an additional ten workforce housing units affordable to households with income no more than 90% of the area median income . The final number of townhomes will be determined through the design and entitlement process. Public parking and the existing Flash bus station will remain on the site. The developer must design and construct a parking garage for the County to include approximately 250 parking spaces for the County’s exclusive use.
