Mission Statement

The Office of Strategic Planning, Performance, and Communications (OSPPC) empowers the Department of General Services (DGS) to achieve its vision through innovative planning, data-driven performance management, and effective communication. Our mission is:

Strategic Planning
  • Facilitate collaborative development and implementation of strategic plans, aligning organizational goals with stakeholder needs
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and adaptability
Performance
  • Design and maintain a performance management framework that monitors progress, measures outcomes, and informs data-driven decision-making
  • Analyze and report key performance indicators to drive organizational efficiency and effectiveness
Communications
  • Craft and share compelling stories that showcase DGS's mission, values, and impact
  • Develop and implement strategic communication plans that engage stakeholders, foster transparency, and build trust

Our Purpose:

OSPPC serves as a catalyst for organizational excellence, driving DGS toward its strategic objectives while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.

OSPPC plans, administers, coordinates, and directs a variety of specialized services to support the mission of DGS. OSPPC provides the following services to the Department:

  • Strategic Planning
  • Strategic Grant Initiatives
  • All Departmental internal and external communications including news media relations; managing DGS social media channels and websites.
  • Staff Training and Development
  • All Administrative policies (Communication Policies, Continuity of Operations Plan and emergency response, DGS Annual Report, MPIA and Annual Green reports)
  • Promotion of Racial Equity and Diversity Inclusiveness in DGS
  • ADA Compliance
  • Youth Apprentice Training Program
  • DGS Performance Plan
