Fenton Street - PRSA
In October 2013, Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) performed a pedestrian road safety audit (PRSA) along Fenton Street from Cameron Street to Wayne Avenue in Silver Spring, Maryland. Montgomery County was part of a multi-disciplined team, including the Maryland State Highway Administration (MSHA) and Arlington County (Virginia) Department of Transportation that led the audit over a two- day, daytime and nighttime period in the central business district of Silver Spring Maryland. This segment of roadway is notable due to a high pedestrian activity generated by the commercial and residential land use. It should be noted the heaviest pedestrian activity occurs during weekday lunch times, weekends, special events, and performances at the Fillmore theatre located south of Fenton Street.
