What else do I need to know?

Download the event guide. This describes how to conduct a bike rodeo step-by-step. Be sure to also download the helmet check flyer and ABC Spin check flyer. These are stations along the course where you’ll provide information to the children.

To host a one-time event:

MCDOT will coordinate with your point of contact and staff and conduct a bike rodeo at your school for 15-30 students. We welcome additional volunteers to help make the event a success. MCDOT will supply the equipment. Your school or organization needs to provide access to a paved surface like a parking lot or indoors, like a gym.

To host a multi-day event:

MCDOT will provide training and loan equipment for up to five days to conduct multiple bike rodeos at your school or organization. MCDOT will also provide flyers and giveaways that can be shared with the participants.

How long is a bike rodeo?

Each Bike Rodeo is typically 90-minutes. Plan for some additional time for set-up, event, and breakdown.

Where should we do it?

Bike Rodeos work best outside in a parking lot or other paved surfaces and can also be held indoors in a gym or similar location.
