1000 Books Before Kindergarten
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a fun and interactive way to help prepare your child for Kindergarten. For every early learning activity, your child can color in a shell on the activity log. An early learning activity can be reading and/or sharinga book, playing peek-a-boo, singing “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star,” or participating in library events like storytime.
For every hundredth milestone, your child will earn a sticker. To keep track of your child's progress, place the sticker on the designated square on the certificate.
Participating is easy:
- Sign up (or log in) online or in any library branch.
- Color in a shell on the activity log for every book read or early learning activity completed.
- For every hundredth milestone, visit your local library to receive your next incentive.
- Read our FAQ (pdf) for frequently asked questions.
