Borrowing Materials
With a Regular Library Card, you can:
- Borrow up to 100 items
- Borrow 5 Launchpads at a time
- Borrow mobile hotspots, killowatt meters, & thermal cameras (one item per type at a time)
- Place a hold through our catalog. If MCPL does not own an item, you can request it from another library system through our interlibrary loan service.

Renewing
MCPL will automatically renew most items 3 times. Each renewal period is 3 weeks. MCPL will not renew items if you owe $25.00 or more on your library account. See paying fees.
Materials not eligible for automatic renewal are:
- “Lucky Day” books
- Mobile hotspots
- OCLC materials borrowed through Interlibrary Loan
- eBooks
- e-Audiobooks
- Thermal cameras
- Kilowatt Meters
Returning
Return materials to any MCPL library either at the front desk or in the Book Drop located outside of each building.
When an item has been lost or damaged while in possession of a customer, the customer pays the full replacement price. Replacement copies will be accepted as substitutes for lost, missing or damaged item fees.
